I am slowly emerging from an unintended hiatus. My husband, Michael, suddenly had to leave to go be with his mother who took a severe turn for the worse. She passed away peacefully the day after he returned home. This was the day of the solar eclipse the last day of March as well. Her health first changed dramatically at the lunar eclipse earlier in the month. I was also working on my tarot cards, the 8, 9, and 10 of Swords. For those that know tarot, I’m sure you instinctively flinched at that. For everyone else, I’m going to do a deep dive about that in the next post. For this one, I really want to share a few things I am very proud of and focus on the doom and gloom later.
Last year I found out I was selected to be a part of a published oracle deck, called the Unity Oracle. It recently went live and is a real thing in the world and I received my very own copy in the mail a few weeks ago. There are 50 cards in the deck, each with a different artist. Each card has its accompanying text in the guidebook, which was written by 50 different writers and poets. My green Tara painting was selected and the card title is Duality of Emotion. You can check out the website for the Unity Oracle on Blue Gaia Publishing and click through the promo images and read the description of my card, because yes girl! I am featured!

I am also on the back of the box itself, which is a huge honor. I am just thrilled that this piece that means so much to me gets to be seen by so many people now and send insight and meaning to those that use this deck.
It’s an incredible collection of beautiful art and meaningful text and I’ve been using it for readings with really good results. So I decided to ask the cards, “What do my readers, YOU ALL, need to read right now.” And this is what I got:
Did that resonate? Let me know.
I am also thrilled to debut my two latest paintings this Friday evening at ARC Gallery in San Francisco for The Birds & the Bees exhibition.
You can preview the exhibition catalogue by clicking here and I highly recommend you do. The artwork is INCREDIBLE and I just can’t wait to see all of this beauty in person.
I went into great detail about my first piece, “The Reciprocity of Flourishing,” in my last post but I haven’t really shared my second piece yet. This is title “Méh (Hungarian: Womb, Bee).
The word for womb and bee are the same in Hungarian, my first language. The tribal people that settled in the Carpathian basin, that is now Hungary, worshipped a “Boldog Asszony” or Blessed Woman, a kind of mother earth goddess. Bees of course, were sacred to her, and the connection of the inner working of the bee hive and the fertility of women isn’t a stretch of the imagination. Here, a bee dragon pair dance around their single sacred egg, ensuring the little egg’s safety while expressing their love for each other. This is painted in the mische technique on wood with handmade tassels. This is a rather small little thing, only 6 inches wide and about 14 inches long. I wanted it to feel intimate and like a little jewel.
Both of my pieces for this show contain fabric/textile elements. I really felt thematically that they needed to have more substance than just paint. I love the multimedia elements of working like this and it’s something I am excited to keep doing more of again. Did you know I used to crochet crazy borders onto my paintings? Yep. More on that another time.
Thank you all for being here and reading my words. My love and gratitude for you all.
